Arrived in Istanbul on Wednesday evening, Leonardo Bonucci officially signed up with Fenerbahçe. “The experienced defender will wear the Fenerbahçe jersey until the end of the 2023-24 season,” said the Istanbul team, currently at the head of the Turkish Süper Lig, in a statement. A new challenge therefore begins for the one who signed at the beginning of September at Union Berlin, after being pushed towards the exit at Juventus Turin, where he spent twelve seasons between 2010 and 2023.
Recently, Leonardo Bonucci had, for his part, indicated on his Instagram account that this was the “probable last season” of his career. Carried in particular by Bosnian veteran Edin Dzeko, current top scorer of the Turkish championship, Fenerbahçe currently occupies first place in the Süper Lig standings after 19 days, two lengths ahead of his great rival Galatasaray.
