Barcelona Defeat Real Betis

Barça plays it like its hated rival Real Madrid. Like the stunning success of the Merengues in the afternoon, FC Barcelona won on the pitch of Betis (2-4) on Sunday in a match without a top-down. The Catalans led 0-2, before a double by Isco. Ferran Torres (tripled) and João Félix forced the decision at the very end of the game, and Barcelona remains 3rd.

Barça showed character. The Barcelonais went to snatch the victory on the Betis pitch on Sunday, on the 21st day of Liga (2-4). Ferran Torres was the great actor in a spectacular match with a hat-trick (21st, 48th and 90th+2), while Isco’s quick double had allowed the Beticos to return to the shot (56th and 59th). It was the entror Joao Felix who gave the visitors the advantage on the wire (90th). Xavi’s men regain confidence and regain 3rd place in the ranking. Their opponents remain 9th.

Under pressure after his last disappointing results, Barça appeared on the lawn of Benito Villamarin with two 16-year-old teenagers in his starting eleven: Lamine Yamal on the right wing and novice Pau Cubarsi in central defense. Things could have gone wrong from the start because Isco nicely launched Luiz Henrique, who however misadjusted his lob against Iñaki Pena (4th).

The Blaugrana held the ball in the first half (72% possession) but failed to make the break because Yamal shot on the post (39th) and Robert Lewandowski’s goal was refused for a Ferran offside (45th). In the recovery, Sevillian coach Manuel Pellegrini revised his plans by launching Nabil Fekir and Borja Iglesias but they were complicated by a new goal from Ferran, in ambush in the middle of the truth zone after a center on the post signed Yamal (0-2, 48th).
